A new and profoundly important paradigm for understanding overwhelming emotional pain has emerged over the last few years, with the potential to change the way we conceptualize human suffering across the whole spectrum of mental health difficulties. It is an evidence-based synthesis of findings from trauma studies, attachment theory and neuroscience, which offers new hope for recovery. Terrific article, thanks for sharing. It makes me angry how long I have spent blaming me, abusing myself, not aware that my behaviour were result of neurological impact of child abuse and separation of self.

Thank you for reading it and leaving a comment. As I did the research for this I found myself getting angry about the lost years and squandered promise. I will use that anger to work for sane gun laws and an end to trump’s immigration policies. I can’t change what happened to me but I can do my part to stop it from happening to children now.
